Covalency
Used to be an atom
mass number about 10 stone
complete within itself
and happy to be alone
Reacted with another
what a big mistake
now I'm a negative ion
incomplete after the break
So, need to share electrons
with an atom that might be fond
enough to oblige in a little reaction
a little covalent bond
Someone I can talk to
but how can it stay platonic
when you've lost so many electrons
and you're feeling so ionic
Don't know if I'm Hydrogen,
Argon or Neon
all I know for certain
is that I won't survive alone
Some ions interact
with a couple at a time
but this one would be grateful
to have one to call as mine
